Monthly Review
/Hello!
I thought that I would share this idea with you here on my website as it has become popular online in the last several years since I shared it on Instagram (and in previous articles such as this one).
Here’s the original text I wrote on the Instagram post for it:

Here’s a little March in review.
I set up a few topics that came to mind in order to log a snapshot of the month. I wrote a small snippet on how it went overall and logged the rest in bullets.
Here are the topics:
How did it go? (An overall feel of how the month went).
Progress made (It can be hard to remember everything that was done. This is a great opportunity to reflect and log).
Tough moments (Experiences to sit with and learn from).
Happy moments (To balance out the tough moments, recall positive moments).
New (I tend to forget some things I buy and when. In order to be more mindful and aware of them, I’ve logged them here).
Notable (Most of the previous topics were logged by memory. This topic is where I flipped back through all of my pages from the previous month and logged moments that brought happiness, were notable, where progress was made, or that I simply wanted to capture here as well. It’s a catchall encompassing all of the topics so nothing got forgotten).
Do you reflect on how the month went?
Additional thoughts to the above:
I think some planners have monthly reflection pages at times, what I like about writing in notebooks (or even if you have space somewhere in your planner), is that I can choose the topics I want to reflect on and switch them up whenever. For example, other topics that could be chosen are: highlights, challenges, new experiences, people met, friends caught up with, career highlights, education progress, etc. Anything relevant or interesting to you and your life. Just thought of another: works made (can encompass writings, artwork, photos taken, videos made, etc.). Ooh, and others such as adventures and training schedules! (Anyone cycling a century?). Maybe favorite outfits. Lessons learned, of course, always a very handy one! The possibilities to reflect on are truly endless and fully customizable to your interests!
You can also take a look through your calendar of choice, be it Google calendar, Apple calendar, or 3rd party app that reads your main calendar hub of choice in order to help jostle your memory.
You can also take a look at any apps that you have logged any data if you want to write down those details as well.
It does not have to be too many topics, whatever comes to mind is probably what you most want to commemorate, so I would recommend dwelling on that and doing what lights your soul alight :)
You could set aside room for each, but I like to place a topic then write as much as I can about that topic indented underneath. I like to leave some space in case I want to add anything later, then I add another topic.
I write until fatigue sometimes, but also just whatever needs to come out and wants to come out.
Supplies used (because people are curious :)):
Lamy Studio fountain pen (Terracotta with EF nib is specifically the one I used here)
Ink (I think I just used the stock cartridge that came with the Lamy Terracotta)

Questions for you to share answers to in the comments (if you’d like to, of course):
Do you reflect on a monthly basis?
If so, do you have any topics that you like to reflect on for the month?
