Mindful Moments: A Bullet Journal Inspiration Column No.1

Hello and welcome to 2017!

Last year was an incredible experience being online and seeing how much the Bullet Journal® blew up in terms of popularity being featured in amazing publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, New York MagazineExperience Life Magazine, The New Republic, Refinery29 UK, and many more incredible features around the world in many different languages!

I can't wait until Time picks up a story on the Bullet Journal and features Ryder on the cover - wouldn't that be amazing?! I'm totally hoping this happens!

I couldn't be prouder of the legacy Ryder has created. His humbleness has sparked an incredible community online bursting with creativity, kindness, and an obsession with the gift of crafting the exact thing they need thanks to the helpful framework that is the Bullet Journal. With the appreciation and enthusiasm of millions of Bullet Journal enthusiasts around the world sharing the many ideas they've created in the pages of their notebooks, it has become a movement, a language, a mindfulness practice, and so much more.

Bullet Journaling has allowed us to meet and celebrate one another online and create online friendships which turn into real-life friendships. It has become a way to connect to one another and cultivate a community full of encouragement and an incredible amount of support of one another. Not a day goes by that I am not in awe of the sincere kindness of this incredible community of thinkers.

You inspire me every day. It doesn't matter if your pages are neat, messy, colorful, simple, and complex - your creativity shines whether you prefer listing or doodling your thoughts. You are someone who cares about taking charge of your life. You want simple, easy, and most importantly flexible. The Bullet Journal is exactly what you need it to be because it's up to you to devise it however you want! That's the beauty and strength of it. You're ready to pick up your pen or pencil and voice exactly what you need in your exact style.

I am happily impressed and amazed by what you come up with every day, and for that, I thank you. In addition to sharing my ideas, it has been my sincere pleasure to help shed light to the wonderful ideas out there. Last year I found quite a few ideas that I was very excited about and you took them and happily applied them: the bookshelf, the popcorn moviesthe little graphs, roadmap goals, birthday tracker - all incredibly creative ideas from Bullet Journalists that I was happy you enjoyed as much as I did, if not more!

That is why I've decided to create this new column on the blog to share the inspiration I find. I call it 'mindful moments' because Bullet Journaling is a practice in mindfulness as it allows us to carve a moment to check in with ourselves and see where we are and write down where we want to go next.

The goal of this column is to share ideas that I find lovely and that may not be known by many, it will be a challenge but a fun one at that :) Some might be well-known ideas, but I wanted to give credit to the originator because that kind of thing matters and I believe it's important to credit sources of inspiration. This is inspiration for Bullet Journalists by a Bullet Journalist who loves this community dearly.

Enjoy!
